Venus, Saturn and 7th Lord in Navamsa and Second Marriage

This is Rashi (D1) chart with Navamsa (D9) of a man. This person has Manglik dosha, Mars in Ascendant but then 42% of all mankind and womankind has Manglik (Kuja) Dosha. But it's rare that tragedy strikes. Even natives with no Manglik dosha also lose spouse.
So when the horoscope has challenging combinations for spouse irrespective of such popular narratives as Mangal dosha's ?
In the attached chart (photo), looking at 7th house and Venus doesn't look normal at all. 6th house's lord Saturn, a signnificator of health challenges in 7th house is common in many charts.

What's not common are the following:

  • 8th house lord Mars, a natural malefic aspecting 7th house
  • Ketu sits at 2nd house, which is 8th house from 7th house - always a sensitive house for spouse's longevity.
  • Ketu is placed in Libra, the sign that "houses" Venus's relationship energy.
  • Saturn the 6th house lord is placed at 8th from Venus, the woman in life (wife).
  • Finally, what closes the deal is look at D9 diagram - where is Venus? Venus is in Aries which maps to 8th house in Rashi (D1) chart, called Mrityu-amsa.

If you are wondering why didn't I even mention 7th house's lord Jupiter who is in its sign of exaltation, welcome to deep horoscope analysis and second part of this article.

Role of Strong Jupiter:
Now, what happened after his spouse's death? Did he marry again? Yes he did marry again and his second marriage is going normal.

That's what Jupiter did - the native had to have a person as his wife for most part of his life, specially if Jupiter aspects his own sign in 7th house of marriage.

2nd house, where Ketu is placed in Libra is the "end" of 1st marriage if afflicted. That end can come through different means e.g. separation/divorce or death. But will that "end" culminate into second marriage?

Will it show any publicly visible effect? Comes 10th house from 2nd house - that's 11th house from Ascendant. 11th house shows 2nd marriage as 2nd house shows end/break in first marriage. In many nadi systems, 11th house is taken as house of 2nd marriage.

Jupiter's exaltation in 11th house and subsequent exaltation of Jupiter's sign dispositor Moon in Taurus makes it a strong planet. Jupiter is powerfully disposed to protect its 7th house of marriage hence the native has a reasonably happy second marriage.

Here, don't miss the exalted Moon, lord of 11th house of 2nd marriage going to 9th house, making 11th house extremely strong. Jupiter and Moon's placements also bear a positive impact on his income.

A note on houses for multiple marriages:
Please note that 7th house remains the sum total of happiness from marriage. Just like 5th house shows happiness or relationship with progeny irrespective of number of children. 5th, 7th and 9th houses are the houses for first, second and third child respectively.

Similarly, 8th house is longevity (or death) of first marriage. For that to publicly manifest as next (second) marriage, 10th house from it i.e. 11th house is important.

The theory of second marriage is 9th (as "sibling" from 7th house) is only a matter of interpretation which makes any sense only in polygamous societies when a clear working relationship is established between the two or more wives. Otherwise it's a fantasy.
