I keep getting asked if Rahu–Ketu have aspects. Aspect of the nodes is a subject of debate.
People in my circle know that I use aspect of nodes because I find them highly APPLICABLE PRACTICALLY as well as their direct reference in at least three CLASSICAL TEXTS.
Following are verses in the classics with references to the aspect of Rahu.
Apart from the above classical texts, there are lost verses in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS) that refer to nodal aspects.
These verses are not mentioned in popular translations of BPHS available in the market today.
BPHS Khemraj Mumbai edition, Part 1, Chapter 74, Shloka 26, has mention of nodal aspects.
This is a well-respected BPHS version among astrologers prior to the era of social-media astrologers with half-baked knowledge.
BPHS Tarachand Shastri version indeed mentions the said shloka at page 498, in Chapter 47 of Part 1.
The same reference can also be found in the Varanasi edition of Shri Ganeshdutt Pathak, Hindi translation.
- Jataka Parijat — Ch. 13, Verse 36: Rahu/Ketu in or aspecting the 5th house, along with a similarly afflicted 5th lord, is connected with loss of child and Sarpa Dosha.
- Deva Keralam (Chandra Kala Nadi) — Part 2, Shloka 1778: Saturn in the 7th house, aspected by Rahu and Mars, is associated with problems concerning the wife's health and, alternatively, pregnancy-related difficulties.
- Jyotisharnav Navnitam — Ch. 1, Verse 11: Saturn in the Navamsa of Mars, when aspected by Mars or Rahu, is given a specific indication concerning the longevity of the child. The following verse also refers to Ketu's aspect.
